Bretty Boop - Brasserie des Légendes

Bretty Boop

RED BEER – with Brett yeast – 6.2%

A Collab’ beer produced by 2 craft breweries.

On one hand, Brasserie de la Senne in Brussels, which has forged its excellent reputation on quality and consistency.

And on the other, Brasserie des Légendes in Ath and Ellezelles, firmly rooted in its terroir and folklore in the heart of Picardy Wallonia.

Both are united by their values and philosophy of natural, eco-responsible and sustainable quality – real benchmarks for today’s consumer.

On March 23, 2023, Brasserie des Légendes invited Brasserie de la Senne to create a limited-edition “collab” beer. These exclusive brews were produced on the Ath site.

The encounter between Brasserie de la Senne’s knowledge of Brett yeasts and Brasserie des Légendes’ barley cultivation gave rise to a second ephemeral beer in our LEGENDS range: BRETTY BOOP.

Its history

For this new short-lived beer, our respective Master Brewers have chosen to work with Brettanomyces bruxellensis yeasts (more commonly known as Brett). Brett yeasts are wild yeasts found in the Brussels region, and are mainly used in the production of lambic-type spontaneously fermented beers. Here, they were used to make a top-fermented beer. They bring a totally original flavor and offer a distinctive finishing touch that evolves as the beer ages.
