The “saison” type beers were brewed during the winter on the brewery-farms of the wide agricultural plains, to refresh seasonal workers employed there during the summer.
The original Saison Voisin recipe comes from the Brasserie Voisin and dates back to 1184. We still follow it today. The Brasserie Voisin began brewing in 1880 in Flobecq, closing down in 1989 as there was no-one to take it over.
